Hi all
I have a grant from the Chief Financial Officer (wife) of around $200 and am after a couple of eyepieces. I will get a University optics HD Ortho (probably 5mm) for planetary viewing but I would also like a wide angle eyepiece for DSO's. Does any one have any thoughts or experience with the newer University optics 70 and/or 80 degree eyepieces.
I have an 8" newt on an EQ5 goto mount.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

Cheers

Chris

Don't know much about those ultrawides chris but they do look very similar to some of the other cheapies that have been knocking around for a few years. What I've read they are a very good option if you have a long focal length scope .

What I know is when I asked a well known vendor do they work well in a fast newt , they were honest enough to say not at all

cheers graham.

Thanks Graham
That's about what I expected, just wanted to see if anyone knew any thing about them. I'll most probably just get one or two of the ortho's.

Cheers

Chris
