Thanks for the welcome. :)
Have IISers gained control over the weather yet? I was hoping to get some clear skies for tonight's partial lunar eclipse.

It's a real shame about the weather. I've been looking forward to this eclipse for ages. No chance of it clearing today where I am.
Welcome to the group.
howdy doody hitchhiker! :)

Technically, I do have a dob! I built an 8" Newt back in the 80s, complete with pipe mount. I converted it to a dob in the 90s.
I got to the point where I wanted to do some astrophotography so I either had to get a decent eq mount for my Newt or really splash out and get an SCT - I went with the SCT!
Will I ever get another (bigger) dob? I wouldn't rule it out! ;)
Thanks everyone, for the welcome. I think it's my fault that the whole east coast is covered in cloud - I bought a new eyepiece last week and - guess what - it's been cloudy ever since!

:welcome: Another NAS member is always welcome!
Glad to see you'll be at the IISA, and I hope you can make it down for our monthly new moon meets at Kulnura, too.
Brendan lives just near you too, I think.

You can't take all the blame for the clouds yourself. I bought myself a new Star Atlas last week.
