G'day, I have been given an Ascot Digital Compass by my thoughtful son but it has no instructions and I am not IT literate enough to work out the combination of its three buttons (mode, select, alarm) to get the various modes to work. Could anyone help please as I haven't managed to find out the manufacturer's details to get an operations manual!! Thanks in anticipation

Hello,
I also buy the same compass but I lost the manual during one of our trip.
As changing the battery, I am not able to remember how to reset
If you receive a way to do it, could you help me ??
Have a good day

Be cautious in using these digital compasses. They do suffer from a margin of error - usually in excess of their published rate. This is exacerbated when the compass is being used in near proximity to ferrous metals: some mounts have more steel than aluminium in them, some scopes have a certain amount of steel , piers almost always and many observatories have some degree of steel framing. In practice, I have found my compass to be as much as 20 degrees off if I am too close to something ferrous.
