HI Guys.

Can you use a Ha fliter with an unmodded dslr? I was speaking to someone a while ago and was advised against it. Has anyone tried it with much luck.

I'd like to give it a go but dont want to waste my money, if the ir filter is going to filter out what little spectum comes through. At this stage I'm still toying with the idea of getting my dslr modded.

I was given an astronomik Ha 1.25 for my dsi 2 for my birthday a last week but still havent used it becuase to be honest i'm not that impressed the the quality of images the DSI2 takes. Dont even get me started on that piece of crap software that comes with it, Envisage. Everytime I try to use it I "envisage" my self punting the laptop over the garden fence.

Thanks
Sandy

dont waste time with an unmodded canon and a H apha filter..you will get some results but its not worth your while
you could use your H alpha filter with your DSI and Nebulosity, though not free, is a fine piece of software
