Just wondering if it would be a good idea to either include an eyepiece/'scope calculator on the site, or a link to a site that has one. I went looking for one to work out my various eyepieces, because:
1. I am mathematically challenged!!
2. LAZY!!

Seriously though, it might be a handy resource for a newbie.
A couple I found:

http://www.stargazing.net/naa/scopemath.htm

There may be better ones out there. Just a thought.

It's a good idea, and one that I've already got in Terry's to-do list.

There's a bunch of stuff coming up later this year and hopefully this will be part of it too.

Cheers

I made my EP calculator in a spreadsheet, I can put it up here in the thread if you want to download a copy to use

Have a look at my concept in the thread Maximum FOV of a DOB ... under Equipment Discussions. You can download the spreadsheet from Post 3.
Various eyepiece combinations can be compared for the same telescope. Any telescope. Doesn't have to be a DOB.
I haven't included telescope faintest magnitude or resolution but this can be easily added.
