Greets, travelling all over the place for work, I find myself increasingly using the PDA edition of these forums (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/archive/index.php/) to keep across what's happening in the southern hemisphere.

One thing that frustrates me is that when a user quotes text from another persons post, it is not recognised. Thus the quoted text just looks like any other post and I find myself reading of what I've already read (if that makes any sense!) - Is there anything that can be done to address this?

Cheers!

I imagine that's the default vbulletin behaviour cause i'm pretty sure we haven't touched the archives area.

I'll have a chat with Terry and see if there's anything that can be done.

Thanks Mike. Its a small thing, so if you guys can't do it, I'll live with it.

I never noticed that... but then I can't say I've actually used the text only version of iceinspace to read posts. I'll have to update the forum software soon, so when that's done I'll change the quote style for the PDA text only pages to something more reader-friendly.

Jase, changing the style of the quoted text in the PDA version would have been a little convoluted. Instead I've modified it so as not to display the quoted text at all.

It means that now some posts may not make any sense without the quoted text but I can't see it being too much of a problem. It's not ideal but it's probably better than mistaking quoted text for the post text.

Also if you're using a PDA, it'll save you some bandwidth now :)
