It's been a long time since the last interview (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/interviews.html) on IceInSpace, but I'll try and find time to do them more regularly in 2009. This interview is with Simon O'Toole (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/84-522-0-0-1-0.html), extra-solar planet hunter working at the Anglo-Australian Telescope, and is one of those at the forefront of this new research and is part of a team who has discovered more than 30 planets orbiting other stars.

I talk to Simon about his discoveries, the methods used to find extra-solar planets, and what the future holds in this exciting field. Will we find another Earth?

Read the interview with Simon O'Toole (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/84-522-0-0-1-0.html).

Cheers

Nice interview Mike
Did you ask him to elaborate on this?
This of course means that I have a wealth of fascinating but ultimately useless knowledge!

I'm glad you've enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

I thoroughly enjoyed Simon's company at IISAC2008. He's a really nice guy and it was very interesting talking about the real work astronomers do. And of course the soccer. And politics. :)
