Did anyone else see the big meteor burn out in the South West sky over Perth last night around 8:30pm
It was a beauty

Yes, I did actually. I just happened to be standing outside admiring Venus and Jupiter at the time and saw it going by. It lasted a long time, at least 5 seconds and was a distinct orange colour. One of the best I've seen for a while. I wondered if it was space junk, it was on the right trajectory for some.

I saw something about 90 minutes ago. A bright fireball travelling in a southerly direction at about a 60 degree angle. I swear it hit the ground somewhere near Spearwood. I know I could be 100's of miles off but it was so close, I was waiting for the noise and a ground fire.
Does anybody know what this could have been? and no I don't drink. My son's GF saw it as well.
