Received my new TSA 102 today and even managed a very brief first light on the Moon and Jupiter. I ordered this a couple of weeks ago and at the time Claude at AEC still had a couple in stock at August prices. He is a pleasure to deal with.

It is a beautiful telescope and I look forward to many pleasant hours of observing in the future. I will be using it alt/az for now. Maybe one day I will get around to aquiring a driven mount.

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures, one campares it to the Megrez 90 with dew shields closed. The TSA does feel much larger and heavier though still a compact and light telescope if that makes sense. The Megrez works on a Vixen Porta but the Tak is a bit too much for that. I have a home made alt/az mount that is suitable for now. :)

Congrats mate... its amazing isnt it, 102 doesnt sound much bigger than 90, but when you put them side by side a 102 APO makes a 90 look a bit dinky...

Look through it as much as you can, my FSQ is set up for imaging now and I can't look through it any more. I miss it's crystal clear views.

Good on you Andy. Welcome to the Tak "102" Club. You'll really enjoy this scope for both visual (wanna see the moon properly??? !!!) and astrophotographic duties later on when your conscience gives way to your Tak fever and you go buy yourself a great GEM for it. :welcome:

Congrats on your new Andy. :)

The Tak 102 makes the M90 look small.

It's surprising what a difference in 10mm of aperature makes in overall size. Beautiful scopes.

Thanks everyone.

I think there may be an equatorial mount in my future. Have to start saving again, the budget is blown for now.
