Hi all, I am seeking some advice on a Piggyback Scope Mounting Kit for my C8 SCT. I currently have a 80mm achro guidescope.

I am after some recommendations for a reasonably priced Piggyback Scope Mounting Kit? :help:

I have seen the kits that are advertised at ScopeStuff. These seem a very good price, but is anyone using or can recommend?

I have also had a look at the kits from ADM. These look really nice but are a bit more expensive.

I would appreciate any other suggestions or comments??
(Does anyone know if there any local Oz suppliers of reasonably priced Piggyback Scope Mounting Kits?)

Losmandy - not cheap, but then cheap may give you differential flexure - ruining your guiding.

I think Doug moulded his own from hardwood - innovative, cost saving approach!

Just remember, whatever you opt from - make dead certain it won't flex under load - else avoid it!

For a local supplier, have a look at StarStuff (http://www.starstuff.com.au)
Not sure if they have stuff to suit a C8

check ADM mounting systems (http://www.admaccessories.com/ADM%20Products/4%20Inch%20Accessories.htm) They are good and inexpensive

If you don't mind DIY project and find a way to mount a vixen style bar at the top of your OTA(you might have holes for it on the OTA already) then you will need only Orion guidescope rings. They are about $40 from Bintel.

Ian, it all depends how handy you are in the shed, they are very easy to make your self, and would be much tougher than the ones you can buy for triple the price.

Leon, where do you get thumb screws with nylon/plastic tipped ends from?
