Binocular Fork Mount

l have been looking at getting a set of large binos like the 45 degree BT100's but with a better mounting arrangement so l came up with this which can also double as a wide field camera mount, a modified set of LX50 fork arms.
l made a set of internal hubs to attach the new mounting plate which will be drilled to multi fit binos and camera. finished photos to come soon.

looks great, and probably beats the cost of buying one. post a pic once you have the bino mounted

I do not know if the binoculars fit between the arms of the mount, but it would be better if the centre of gravity of binoculars coincides with the Dec
axis.

Anyway, a big gotorized binocular sound very well...

l've made the brackets and fitted my 15x70's and will make the brackets for the BT100's when they arrive.

Looking good m8,excuse my ignorance,will you be able to use a hand held paddle to move around the sky? and what type of tripod will you be using.

yes Arthur, it is fully operational through a hand controller same as an LX 200 but without the go-to operation although it does of course have setting circles. it will be mounted on a wedge and home made pier.
