Has anyone tried Clinton Wood's device which is fitted into a Canon
to "T" piece adapter, this is a do it your self gizmo. It activates to
Canon autofocus electronics but not the in lens motor. This can be
used on an astronomical telescope. A similar device, fully assembled,
is I beliece available from Canada. Gerald Sargent

The one thing I always double check before venturing out is to make sure I have my auto focus chip and T ring. Hand assembled by Clinton and I will be forever grateful for this vital piece of equipment. It's a toss up between the T ring and Clinton's old modded 20D as to my best piece of astro equipment.

I believe the one from Canada and the ones on Ebay are a bit hit and miss. Bryan (astroturf) has an Ebay version and it is not as functional as my one from Clinton.

To me there is nothing quite the like the sweet sound of "beep beep" when you hit that sweet focus spot. Now all I have to do is master polar alignment and post processing and who knows I might even post an image .

Hi Fahim,

I'll drop Clinton a line on your behalf and ask him to contact you via pm on here. He doesn't have a website where you can buy these chips from, as far as I know. I might even suggest he posts an ad on the IIS classifieds. Last time I saw him, a month or so ago, he had a few of the chips.
