Dumkopf!

WARNING TO NEWCOMERS TO ASTRONOMY!!!! Never use one of these SOLAR FILTERS!

They are prone to explode from Magnified heat from the Sun and cause permanent blindness!!!!

NEVER, NEVER USE ONE!!!!!! They are Illegal in Australia and many other countries.

Proper Solar filters fit onto the front of a telescope, NOT the eyepiece.

I just sent the seller an eMail regarding the *Eyepiece Solar Filter*. I just gave him the general facts re; the dangers of still selling these to the public. Why are they still available? Who is manufacturing them? Anyone know how to find out? Let us know, so that we can contact them. Are they just 'LEFT-OVERS'? Makes you wonder!!! :D L.

I bought an old 60mm refractor off ebay a few months ago. That came with an EP Sun filter. Unfortunately it's for the 1" EPs so I can't use it either in my 114mm Newt or in the 200mm Dob. :( I would have liked to do the Mythbusters on it; see how big a scope one needs to make the filter go up in smoke.
