I'm not too sure how many people already know about a company in Melbourne called 'Starstuff', but they have amazing products in their line-up!

No junky chinese stuff in there, most stuff made by them.

In the new products, there are side-by-side dovetail bars etc.

The interesting part is the new head for EQ6's and HEQ5's. It is for the super-wide dovetail bars! Handy for heavier scopes.

They seem to have a lot of good stuff for the EQ6

Some of their stuff is a bit pricey, but the quality looks excellent, and it is probably on par with importing the lesser quality stuff anyway

If you've all already heard of them, just shoot me. I'd never heard of them before.

Good to see a local manufacturer of this stuff. Bit on the expensive side.

I like the red backlit LCD display, I've been trying to find one of these for an astronomy project for a while

Thanks for the link, Ken.

Some nice stuff there to add to 'Matt's Xmas gift giving ideas to Matt" list:lol:

Those altitude bolts look like a nice upgrade from those awful bolts that come with the mount...

Ken another thanks for the link.

Just spoke with Luke and he is going to see how we can make an adapter for the nikon bayonet to the 47mm screw thread of the lunar/planetary camera.
He will be looking into that in January after getting through some other orders.

Looks like this is another small problem solved.

An EQ-6 tuneup/upgrade service would be popular, I'd pay for it.

Luke is a busy beaver. He's already got a waiting list for all sorts of custom gear. He does great work.

Note he is also a reseller of the Imaging Source cameras. My experience with him when I purchased mine was fantastic (the unit died about 1 hour in), and I had a replacement in 1 week shipped from Germany. He also spent over an hour testing and diagnosing the cam when it blew up (including all wiring that I had made myself etc).

He's one dedicated man with the right attitude.

Hang the expense I will change over to the beefed up head for the EQ6. That is if h0ughy leaves some stock.
I was wondering how to adequately support a 12" astrograph I was thinking of building (the design is done). I now have a solution.
The stepper motor focus controller is also a very desirable addition to the arsenal as it auto compensates for temperature. It will save me waking up and changing focus as the temperature changes on the long series of long exposures.
