Hi folks, I'm trying to find a place that sells a reticle illuminator.

Not just the Celestron type but one that fits around a M12 x 1 thread. I'm guessing the thread as I know that a M12 X 1.25 thread is too coarse (for all the oldies thats around 1/2 inch UNF thread so I'll need around 1/2 inch UNEF thread).

This is for a polar scope illuminator. I believe it's one of the newer Skywatcher polar Scopes for an EQ5, as sold thru My Astroshop:

This above link doesn't show the thread or machining for the illuminator.

If anyone knows more info, I'd be grateful, the internet is no help so far. I'm seriously thinking of making my own if I can get the right threaded bolt.

thanks in advance:thumbsup:

Good luck, I ended up having to order one from the states.

Was that a reticle illuminator with the large thread diameter or to Celestron type?

The standard thread like the silver one that comes with most illuminated reticles when you buy them complete.

I tried half a dozen different suppliers here in Australia and got the same reply....nope sorry. Apparently they cant buy the illuminators seperately, they have to be supplied to our Aussie suppliers as complete illuminated reticle units.
