Morning everyone,
Can any of you help me with comparisons with tree telescopes I have been browsing on the web, to be used for astrophotography.

I/ Orion Sirius 80ED EQ-G refractor f7.5
2/ Skyview Pro 80ED EQ f7.5
3/ Astro optical has offered a Saxon OTA, but I have no further information on this one as yet.

I am hoping someone owns or has tried any or all of the above that could help me with the comparisons, I don't want to just take the salesman's choice or favourite I'd like your opinions too.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Sandy.

All of the scopes you have mentioned are the same scope, so no comparison is needed. These ED80's all come from the same factory but get labelled with different names: 'Orion, Saxon, Skywatcher, etc', and get painted different colours.

All have the same Crayford Focuser too

The ONLY ED80 in this quality range that is not from the same factory is the 'Celestron 80ED'., which has a few quirks that many owners of them don't like eg: the dewshield falls of easily.

The only difference in the ones you name is the mount.

Thank you Ken
I didn't know that they were made in the same factory.
Yummy, I'll check them out. From the write ups, I liked the sound of the Skyview Pro and Sirius. Can't wait to see them.

Thanks again Ken :jump:
