Use of Digital Cameras with Lx200

Have a Fuji Z602 with 51mm front thread.

Any way to use this to image from my Lx200?

A search of the Meade size shows no specs/sizes for the range of adaptors etc....

With most digital cameras, the lens cannot be removed to allow you to simply connect the camera body to your scope and take an image through the scope, unless you have an SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera.

So, you are left with "offering" the lens up to your eyepiece, which can be a bit hit and miss. Scopetronix at http://www.scopetronix.com/ have a 40mm Maxview eyepiece plus a special adapter that couples your lens to their eyepiece.

I think this is called the "afocal" method. The Scopetronix solution minimises the gap between the front of your camera lens and the eyepiece, which reduces vignetting. I have a Minolta 7Hi and even using the Scopetronix gear, the image looks like you are looking through a tunnel, the central portion is a circle with the photo, surrounded by a dark portion - this is called vignetting.

Here is an example of vignetting using my Minolta 7Hi, Scopetronix 40mm MaxView and my wife's spotting scope. The Minolta is particularly bad as it has a 28-200mm zoom lens. I believe that cameras with a smaller zoom range suffer less from vignetting?

I have the same setup except with the dimage 7, but I bought the scoptronics holy handgranade, the one that can take the nagler31mm (not that I have one) and an adaptor for the pentax *istDS and go for it. a small investment for a great gadget. see this thread for some examples
