Hi, I noticed Andrews Comm are advertising these scopes ( $349 for a 90x1000 on an AZ3 ) and I couldn't find them on the Celestron site. does anybody know anything about the quality, or otherwise, of these FS scopes and where they fit into the scheme of things.

Here is a link to another site in the states that carries them

Personally I think the CG-3 mount is too light to carry the scope. I have a 102EQ on a CG-4 and consider that the minimum

Thanks for that 1ponders, I asked a friend in the UK as well and he said the same thing about the mount.

The Celestron refractors are probably Synta-made, that is in more familiar terms that they are Skywatchers under another name. Most of the Synta stuff I've seen is fine as a beginners scope but they are acromats so you will get some violet fringing on bright objects with them.
