1ponders has used the DMK for long exposures, do a search just in case he doesn't see this for a while.

I don't think they have cooling do they? That might limit their use for long exposure.

Hi Al, you can check out Eta Carina and a couple of others here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=18351), here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=18342), here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=18298)and here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=17919).

I was hoping to get back and try a few more but never got around to it. I think it has pretty good potential for only an 8 bit camera.

i liked the effort on the homonculus. Seems it has some potential. (how would it compare for sensitivity to your cannon)
once i organise the colour filters i will have a go , if it performs well then a larger version could be a viable alternative.

Appreciate your effort in providing the links.

There is certainly a higher gain level with the DMK than the Canon 300D even at 1600 ISO. The DMK though has a better resolution at 5.6 micron pixels compared to the 7.4 of the Canon.
