Here's a rumour doing the rounds over on the SCT-Users Yahoo group.

Rod Mollise giving substance to Televue releasing a new 13mm, 100 degree AFOV ep:whistle:

Thanks for that.

It's still only at the rumour stage over at SCT-Users.

They must be a bit behind, although those threads are dated the 27/28-04, so still quite recent.

It'd still be news to most folk.

100deg! I wonder how well it does in a fast scope.

How much will it cost?

What Al Nagler really needs to start working on is a 360 degree FOV. That way, I could use it around the home supervising the kiddies, as well as at night through the scope.

Maybe if you sell the scope and tripod, you will have enough money to by an eyepiece!

100 degrees should see the sensation of any significant restriction to the field of view disappear . We live in an amazing decade of development of astronomical gear. :)

Good idea for a new rumour!

Maybe when the eyepieces get bigger than the average scope, Al will stop trying to expand the field of view.

Might be cheaper to actually take a space flight...

Looks very nice . The expanded barrel looks like it will be no good for binocular viewing :(

If anyone wonders what 100 degree apparent field looks like, fold a piece of paper to 50mm to use as a spacer between your eye and a CD , hold the combination to your eye and imagine the view full of stars. Wow.

82 degree AF has been getting a bit ho-hum lately with such fields available for under $100 . Its not surpising Televue want to reclaim the honour of producing the widest field eyepieces.

It's good to see Televue surviving well alongside all of the cheaper competition. Hopefully the new line of eyepieces will deliver more used Naglers to the market as people upgrade.

I wonder when Meade will be announcing their 102 degree eyepiece?

I'd like to get one of these. Does anyone know where I might be able to pick one up, either domestically or from o/s?

According to the TeleVue site, they will not be released until the US, summer/autum.

Cheers
