Well it's been a few months now and still have atleast 5 - 8 weeks wait for the Mount and scope.

Atleast its looking more like I have a scope now.

So far as we see it:

ED80 guide scope
125mm Losmandy Guide rings
Losmandy Dovetail bar
Extra Heavy duty 179mm Parallax rings for Tak TOA150
SBIG STL11000M Class 2
SBIG Guide head camera
Astro Physics Mounting plate.

Awaiting Mount AP900 GOTO and TOA 150.

Starting to get a bit excited...it's been a while.

Wow Tony, looking fantastic. I bet it must be frustrating. I couldn't imagine not imaging for that long.

Goodness me - is that a camera, or a cryogenic unit?? :eyepop: :eyepop:

Good to hear Tony. Not that I'm looking to buy them off you. LOL. I actually sold my LRGB Astronomik 50mm unmounted filters and have ordered a set of Custom Scientific LRGBC 50mm unmounted filters. Will get the CS Ha, but not yet. Its about $900 just for the 10nm 50mm Ha filter. Now that I understand how the Astrodons operate (by crosstalk between wavelength nm(colour channels) to deliver an equal 1:1:1 ratio, it put me off them. You don't get as much contrast and colour correction. Sorry not meaning to put you off them. Its a personal choice. You may wish to read this - http://www.sbig.com/pdffiles/SBIGFilterSet.pdf

Thats cool Jase,

I got the recomendation of Brad Moore who uses the astrodon filters.

To be honest I wouldn't even know the difference between a cheap $100 filter to these mega expensive Astrodon filters.

Very nice Tony, look forward t seeing the results of those 30 minute subs :)

Nice choice of equipment. What FOV will your chip give you (arc seconds/minutes) and what pixel size?

Roger.

LOL. I'd do the same if I was selling telescope time like he is. It makes it easier for the user to just take the same length exposures through each filter and not have to worry about the correct white G2V star balance. This of course doesn't necessarily mean they're better. Depends on the application.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing more of your kit as it rolls in fresh off the boat. ;)

Hi Roger,

Pixel size is 9 micron 4008 x 2672 pixels
1 x bining will give me 1.69 arcesecond per pixel
Fov is 113 x 75 arc minutes.

Very very nice. 1.69 is perfect. And 113 x 75 - Huge!

The gear is looking great, Tony.

When is the TOA due to arrive? What an amzaing scope that will be. I have looked through RB's 130 Tac and it was a sight to behold. Views so sharp, star points like I had never previously seen..............

Early March I have been told but don't discount late February.
Going by the rings the scope is much larger then I thought.

Tony you're gonna freak when you see the size of it.
I got a shock when I first opened the box to the 130 !

You gonna come down to Kulnura for a get together? :D

Looks awesome - with your gear in that set up you must be able to take amazing shots of that wall! :)

Seriously the mount you're after will be a great platform to manage all that top end gear!
