Here's my first shot at the Tarantula.

I took 1h 55m of data and stacked the best 80% in DSS.....so about 1.5 hours worth. Darks, flats, bias all used when stacked. Processed in Startools.

I'm amazed at the number of stars in this field. I actually tried to reduce their prominence during processing because I could hardly see the background.

Overall it is probably a little over exposed but I'm pretty happy with it as a first shot in 'the cloud'

And you should be happy you have an excellent image there Jon.

Try masking all but the burnt out bit and try processing it seperate and you will probably find there is detail in there.
Anyways lets look at the doughnut not the hole☺

I can see detail in there if you tweek it a bit just bringing up what I can already see will greatly lessen the appearance of it being blown out.

I found the less = more in the life part really use to cut down the smaller stars. Upping what stars are taken out helps reduce some of the noise.
Awesome effort there, I need to get more data of tarantula.
What scope is that through?

Good looking image - nice star colours. Looking forward to trying this once some other targets have gone for the year.
