It's Helix season! Can't wait to see what sort of PN our Sun will produce in 5 billion years lol.

Capture details: This is a Ha / OIII+Green / OIII+Blue combination. My Ha filter is fairly wide at 30nm. I'll get a more narrow band filter in the future. Some OIII was taken with a visual OIII filter + UV/IR cut filter double stacked.

Ha = 330x2 minutes.
Green = 278x1 minute.
Blue = 148 x 1 minute.
Total about 18 hours.

ZWO ASI 183mm Pro at -10C, GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, HEQ5 Pro guided with PHD2 over several nights.

I think you've go the hang of this new camera Kevin...and nice to see you guiding too :)

There's so many filter to try Lewis. It makes it interesting. I had to have a long think how I would combine it all. This one really made a mess of my hard drive lol. There's files and tests everywhere.

Kev, I recently connected my 2 laptops via a LAN cable and transferred 371 GB of imaging data from one to the other. It took 8 hrs to transfer :) I think it may even be time to delete most of it completely.

I stuck to 7nm/6.5nm for my NB filters.

I'm sometimes deleting the subs now and just keeping the stack. The subs take up so much space. I need another drive for backup too.

Good depth and nice colours. :thumbsup: You've got a little tilt in your field though.

Yeah there's something going on there. There's quite a few stacks added together where the camera has been removed and put back on. I suspect DSS is a little off in registration, or some of the filters have a slight distortion. My Ha filter after all did only cost 10 dollars. :D

Ha that makes sense. Yeah harder to register subs from different sessions.

Nice helix but your stars on the edges on your image are a bit out but still looks good Kevin

Thanks Martin. Yes there's multiple reasons for the odd star shapes. At 2 minute subs I'm getting some diff flex. I need an OAG.

A nice result, Kevin. Good luck with the final tweaking... and how about NB for this target next time :)

That is a very nice one Kevin, great colour and detail, if it where mine, I would be more than happy to add it to my stables.

Cheers
Peter
