Help identifying this

I was playing with my new 183mc pro last night for a first light,

The go to on my mount was nt going where it was supposed to though polar alignment was spot on, regardless I stumbled on this cluster in the southwest sky last night about 1030 onwards

Can someone identify please?
also a first light on the orion nebula first time for me:)
I need to find my ir cut filter to eliminate some of that star bloat.

I think you've been fishing in the Lagoon :)
M8 or NGC 6523.
What made the 3-4 prominent stars so blobby, do you think? Was it an overprocessing of the image on the computer?

Your Orion is veeery pretty, I find the tame colour pleasing.

Yes i agree Lagoon Nebula. I've got the same camera and struggled with it for a while until I realised it needed the IR/UV cut filter. Much smaller stars and better colours after I got one.

Oh and by the way that Lagoon image I just added is a combination of data from my ASI183MC Pro and some Hydrogen alpha and Luminance data from my ASI1600MM-Pro.

Thanks guys, a long way to go, the ed80 and the 183 go really well together, gotta use a reducer for Orion methinks to fit the running man.

nah the blobby stars are the result of no ircut filter

I didn't overprocess the image that's how it looked.

It's Lagoon, I've just finished processing my Lagoon/Trifid.

The stars look lifeless.

Yeah I agree about the stars it was lowish in the south west sky right over Melbourne's skydome so lucky i got what i got I reckon, hopefully the ircut filter will assist
