SMC (a part of) in HaSIISII

Hi all,

Last night I was able to collect about 8 hours of SII. I decided against OIII because SMC is very low in the sky from our location, and the Moon is still quite bright.

All up nearly 32 hours of integration.

Looks like the dynamic range has been handled well Suavi as there is quite a range of brightness in the Ha regions across the image. The fainter tendrils of Ha across the field come through nicely.

There is a most interesting area about 30% of the way toward 1 o'clock, which shows lacy filigree rich in SII. Presumably this is a supernova remnant.

There are a few other small partial arcs which are very rich in SII. Perhaps they are the result of asymmetric explosions into pre-existing material.

Thank you all yet again for such kind feedback. The data is not as sharp as I would like it to be, but otherwise I am quite pleased with the image.

Attached are SII channel and a crop of the area mentioned by Mike & Trish - I hope I got it right! LOL
