I remember a while back reading a link to "these guys repair binoculars which are out of alignment etc" who someone posted. Anyhow I took my 70x15 bino's out tonight for first time in a while and the view is shocking - they are way off.

If anyone knows somewhere that I can send them for a ~50buck repair I'd be very greatfull - the optics seem ok still, just the point at different places :)

Thanks in advance,
G.

Just go cross-eyed and pocket the 50 bucks!

Glad to be of assistance.

Mint, You can try to re- collimate them yourself just by slowly applying pressure (up/dpwn), to each side whilst looking thru them. Unless you have dropped them the prisms should still be O.K. If you do not want to try this then try DAW in Sydney. Have you tried a local optometrist re; info.? http://www.daw.com.au/
HTH. :D L.
ps. Thanks Beren. I thought there'd be a local guy.

going to see if I can find those screws under the rubber armour - I was under impression that it was far harder than that :D

Thanks.

Mint, You might just find that the info. relates to the Oberwerks bino's.
Haven't seen a lot of 'cheap' binocs with any kind of external collimating screws. :D L.

these look like exact copies - the screws are there - the details are in the same place - hell the little screw that is visible is in exactly the same place......

Yes it does not surprise me..I bought a pair of binos from Andrews recently, and they are the exact same as the Oberwerks

(I also own a pair of Oberwerks that I imported from the US some time ago)..Looks like they are all being made in the same factory in China
