SPX350 F9.1, ASI290 uncooled, Astronomik UHC+Baader RGB filters.

Seeing was variable for this lot but Scorpius Bug nebula came out very well. The Ant nebula in Norma Menzel 3 showed decent detail within considering the avg seeing.

The Box nebula ngc6309 in Oph has 2 bipolar components and IC2553 has a box like shape in Carina with bad seeing. The planetary in the Corvus square ngc4361 at 11th mag and 2 arc min diameter was very faint and needed lots of stretching, colour was barely visible.

The 12bit ASI290 is good at imaging high surface brightness/concentrated objects like planetaries but you cant beat a cooled 16bit camera for the faint stuff like the elusive halos.

Mars is ruined with dust storms so I am trawling the PN's in Sco/Sag/Oph with the ASI planetary cmos.

Regards, John.

A nice rendition of this set of planetaries

Most excellent work. We particularly like the resolution and clarity of the central dust lane in the Bug, and the extreme detail in the Ant.

The resolution of the bug nebula is fantastic! The rest as well.

We are wondering what the collective noun for a group of PNs is

Notwithstanding this, we have a fine collection that present a lot of great detail. An excellent bag of PNs to be sure.
