Messier 20

The Trifid Nebula (M 20), is an Ha region located in Sagittarius. The name means divided into three lobes, the object is an unusual combination of an open cluster of stars; an emission nebula (the red portion), a reflection nebula (Blue portion and a dark nebula.

Lum 23 x 2min = 46min
Red 24 x 4min = 96min
Green 25 x 4min = 100min
Blue 27 x 4min = 108min
HA 24 x 10min = 240min
OIII 16 x 10 = 160min
Total time = 12.5 hrs

A bright, beautiful Triffid with lovely fine detail and colour. Awesome! How did you use the narrowband data? As colour or luminance, or both?

Hi ben

It’s, both. I combined the HA with my lum data to give it more contrast. The HA to add more red and OIII to add more green and blue.

Nice work, Ben. It's difficult to keep the blue reflection neb looking good when blending Ha.
