Ok, no judging, this was my first ever AP attempt with a webcam and 8" Dob.... 15 years ago... so from memory I dragged my Pentium 3 with CRT monitor and Philips webcam with lens removed and a 35mm Photo canister hot glued to the front (found it the other day actually) out to driveway.

Would line up tube ahead of transit of planet across the screen, wait, and take a short avi if it showed up.

Ahh the good ol days.... and I have to tell you, I was very very happy with the result at the time.

Cheers,

Justin

It's all fun, except for the cold! Which I have solved with some Aldi snow gear, except for gloves. Coffin nails taste different with gloves on...but i digress.

I would have been happy with that as well!

Cheers

I can't believe how planetary photography has progressed over the years. Once upon a time all we got on Jupiter was two faint cloud bands!

A pity about the Mars dust storm this approach. But I'm still not properly setup for planets anyway.

I can barely remember what I did last week... let alone 15 years ago. Haha

I have a very vague recollection that it was 30 minutes between images.... but I am guessing really.
