1 hour on The Bug Nebula

Hi all.
last night imaged the Bug Nebula.
Image is 6 x 10 mins ISO200, LPS filter, modded 350D, 10 inch f5.6 newt. off axis hand guided as usual.
near perfect polar alignment using Sharpcap3.1 polar alignment tool, within arc seconds of perfect alignment. Did not even need to make dec adjustments at all on most of the subs.

You've got the central vertical dust lane beautifully - you must have had good seeing and good technique.

Thanks. Tweaked the focus till it was as close as I could possibly get it, and guided nice and carefully during the subs. Also went for ISO200 rather then 400 that i normally use when using the nebula filters to try and preserve the brightest parts.

Thanks all. Though the mount is old and has a plastic worm wheel, if I put it slightly out of balance so it loads it up, it tracks pretty well and periodic errors can be easily guided out. Its only wind it does not tolerate.

You need an observatory! That shields the wind pretty well.

I've got an old Samson that needs a motor drive. I see some people are putting 12" scopes on them.

I'm presently stalking your PN's. :P

Thanks all. Yep wind is a real show stopper, couldnt do anything last night, though not too upset as last night seeing was awful as well.

I guess if some sore of gearbox reduced motor could be put on the DEC control and suitable electronics the Sampson could autoguide.
