I set up the 80 mm to try and get Corona Australis but got into balncing the mount eand adjusting stuff and found this nice little region I have no idea of the interesting object to the left.
About 70 frames at 30 sec at 1600 iso unguided stacked deep sky stacker processed a little in gimp.

No cropping for a change.

I am rather stunned to think I could pick up this sort of thing so rather happy...must be cutting out the street light with my new curtin in the cube.

I was not going to go out cause it was cold..slack...cause after tabby it does not really inspire one the sky here...anyways got motivated and produced the photo.

Hi Alex.

Really nice pic. Had any luck working out what object to the left is ? It's quite a piece of dark in an otherwise very colourful sky

I set up this evening to get Corona Australis tonight too but dinner with the family cut off the first part of he session then the inevitable cloud cut off the tail end. I got 30 odd usable subs but it's not enough.

Once again, very interesting.

Well done Alex.

Hi Alex
The objects you are asking about are Barnard 86, the dark nebula and the Open Cluster next to it is NGC6520. They are a nice pair of objects .
