The Rho-Ophiuchi Complex. A Ha(HaR)GB blend, photographed with a Samyang 135mm F2 lens and STL11000m SBIG camera.

For some reason, I could not get much blue out out of this image... not like i see in other peoples images of this area...

Exposures were:
44 x 150sec of blue.
45 x 90sec of green
46 x 180sec of red
20 x 1800sec of Ha (5nm)

constructive comments welcome :)

Very deep shot. I reckon that's why you're having trouble picking up the blue reflection nebs. Your Ha is probably overwhelming the area.

A wonderful image.

As Marc says Ha can dominate as its often the strongest. How did you blend the Ha in? Does the RGB by itself have more blue in it?

Greg.

Thanks Guys.
I blended the Ha using screen mode and adjusted the amount to taste, Just had a play around with the straight RGB and in no time, I am able to get more colour out of the image. The current version looks a little "dirty" for lack of better word I think. I might redo it.

Try lighten mode or lighter colour mode or even soft light mode.

I took the liberty of examining the image in PixInsight, and found the blue is quite clipped (as well as the green to less extent) and a possibly over-stretched red. This could account for the lack of showing blue.

Looks good, Josh, but hard to appreciate the compressed IIS image.
