Hi, my attempts from last night. Very damp and humid conditions following a week of moderate rainfall. Despite intermittent cloud cover managed to record Jupiter near GRS transit and developing dust activity on Mars as it rolls westward through Valles Marineris - first light with a new 2.8 micron colour sensor. Was only using f16 but planning to go higher next time.

Interesting to see prominent dark blue feature forming west of the GRS in following STrD boundary merger. Very distinct in preview, it looks like an impact scar. Seeing was not so good this evening for Europa transit.

Clear skies,
Seb

Seb,
That Mars image is very very good, the surface detail is quite astounding.
I'm impressed.

Well done.

Troy, Dunk and Anthony - thanks for words of praise.

I am very happy with the results delivered by Skyris 236C thus far, it reproduces well balanced vibrant colour which simplifies post processing workflow. Faster frame rate also helps to get desired resolution in variable conditions.

I think the scope has the collimation it needs for Mars opposition.. which will not matter anyway if all we get is a pale orange blob
