Meade lx200 classic

Hi! Can anyone tell me how to remove the focuser knob form a Meade lx 200 classic telescope. I only need to remove the outer cover to do some machining to fir a cog for a fine focus set-up I am building. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
