CHANCE TO SEE THE SOUTH AMERICAN TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 2nd JULY 2019
Six months ago I paid $2,516.50, or 25% deposit on a Solar Eclipse trip to Chile to observe the 2nd July 2019 total solar eclipse and see some sights. The total twin share cost (2 people) for the trip was $10,066. ($5,033 each.)
This eclipse tour has increased in price, but is now fully booked in any event.
I have recently been diagnosed with spinal problems. This aggravated knee issues and has resulted in considerably reduced mobility. I found it necessary to curtail various physical activities and my wife and I have reluctantly decided to withdraw from participation in this eclipse trip. The tour operator (Eclipse Travel) will allow us to transfer the booking.
It is a small tour group, escorted by a professional astronomer/educator. I visited the eclipse viewing area five years’ ago and it is arguably the prime viewing area on the South American continent near several major professional observatories. (I can provide images, descriptions and background from personal knowledge.)
There are additional costs to that quoted above, principally the return flight to Santiago, Chile to join the tour. These can be arranged with the tour operator. Attached are the details of the tour.
