Hi Folks. Me again with another of my modifications
Take a trip to my web page http://members.optusnet.com.au/~mar.dav/dls006.html (http://members.optusnet.com.au/%7Emar.dav/dls006.html)
And see how it is done. The milling of the base only cost me $30 at a local engineering shop. As most of now its nigh on impossible to interface a Canon EOS to a dob due to the focal length of the camera from its face to the sensor being 35mm, which even in prime focus puts the camera beyond the focal length of the scope.

This simple mod can easily be undone and, to use your EPs all you need is a 60mm extension tube to bring the focal point back to normal.

This little mod overcomes having to raise the primary mirror, which I did on my home brew 8"

I was going to use a low profile Moonlite, but have now saved a lot of money. Incidently the next invention is to motorise the Crayford using a simple gearhead motor and PWM generator. The motors are available at Jaycar for 12 bux

Clear skies
Dave

PS Notice the magic of science where the wrting is reflected on the items :eyepop:

neccessity is the mother of invention
