Just need some advice. I'm looking at going down the path for automatic focusing and going mono, a ZWO ASI 1600mm 7 filter kit.

This is my current focuser I have now. https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p9926_TS-Optics-2--UNC-V-Power-Crayford-Focuser-M90-thread-for-RC-telescopes.html

I guess I need this https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=6772#c s

and this https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=9456#c s

Or is there something else I can use with my focuser?

Hi Ben,

It looks like the USB focus motor is the best to go with as its ASCOM compliant so you can do auto-focus with SGP. (You just have to decide whether you want the 4.5Kg version or the 1.5Kg version).

As to whether you need that focuser adapter kit you linked, I'm not sure, the description says its for a Newt focuser.
There is another focuser adapter kit called steeltrack which may be the correct one.

I would send an email to teleskop-express and ask for their advise.

Cheers

YMMV although a rack and pinion focuser and a robo focus unit are a proven, reliable, 100% repeatable combination. Don't muck around with crayfords and cheap motors and controllers.

Sharp Sky Pro is another good focus system worth looking into.

Have a look at Rigel systems motor focus its cheap reliable and can be disengaged to use manual focus
