storing position

hello all

i am curious as to how you are supposed to store your dob scope say after a night out ?

i havent had any dew on my mirrors yet apart from an attack of a slight case of surface rust in a particular spot on the outside of the OTA .

afterwards i store mine vertical with the dust lid on.

i dont really have a choice on storing it at a horizontal position (12 inch dobbie :) )

I store mine vertical but take the caps off the next day to allow any moisture to evaporate in the warmer day time temperatures. When the caps are off I cover the top with a clean tea towel and have had no dust problems.

basically horizontal.. just a bit of an incline. cant store it verticle without the cap on cause the cats jump on it :)

I have mine at a 45 degree angle inside my observatory just incase it gets water in it (unlikely with the dust shower cap cover I have on it) That way the water runs along the side of the tube and not straight don onto the primary. There is even enough room for me to get past it in the obs.
