It's very beautiful. I don't usually like the look of narrow band but this is quite spectacular.

Great Job Rick.I love the colours and especially the almost iridescent blues/green.

Thanks, Rodney. Even better

Thanks, Greg!

Thanks, Kevin. I think this is one of those objects that has a nice balance of the NB wavelengths.

Thanks, M&T!

Thanks, Martin.

Thanks, JA! I resisted the temptation to eliminate the green and go for the more conventional gold/turquoise look. GTL has impact but loses a lot of the subtle colours.

Can I have that with a side of coleslaw and potato and gravy please?

I take back - temporarily - any comments in regards to the effluence of whales

That's not helping with my intermittent fast this morning, Peter :)

That's a lot to swallow, Lewis

Martin is pumping out some seriously nice data!
I've been playing around with a HaRGB version of this for a while and it definitely lends itself to narrowband over RGB. There are a lot of detailed areas that just appear washed out in the RGB version.

Nicely processed Rick

Thanks, Colin! Was looking at subs of the Keyhole that Martin collected last night. Based on the FWHMs it's going to make an awesome Fickle Finger

Very nicely put together Rick. Lots of interesting structure and I like the way you have managed to present it as a tri colour image rather than the usual fall into making it bichromatic, very colourful and even a bit artistic  My only (minor) suggestion, if you feel like tweaking it.. is that the stars look a bit muted, like their colour has been removed and this has washed them out a tad and made them look a bit dull...if this was fixable it would look even better I recon and make the scene sparkle a bit more

Really great shot regardless though :)

Thanks, Mike. You are right about the stars. They are basically white (as result of the NB process that I use) with a little background colour that has leaked in. I have some RGB data to colour them but I wasn't happy with my first attempt to do that. I do plan to try again...

Cheers,
Rick.

It's a great image mate ... and I guess I have mentioned muted stars in some of your images before (have I ever mentioned Decon..?...naaaah). I am talking about the intrinsic intensity or brightness of the stars, it seems to get lost occasionally, what do you think does this? I see the colour leaking you refer to as well....just a minor possible improvement :love2:

Hi Mike,

Ignoring colour, I do like to reduce the stars so they don't compete with the main subject. Probably just a difference in taste :) It's not a result of decon which tends to sharpen the stars...

Cheers,
Rick.

He he the Decon comment was just a wittle joke cus I have been known to bang on about it :P :) so, no, it wasn't decon, and I wasn't referring to the size of the stars, that looks ok, just their dull appearance, dull as in not "shiny" white (or coloured)...does that make sense ...or am I just rambling
