I'm sure the irony of the photo is totally lost on the powers that be at the this near LAX Denny's Restaurant - probably chosen to represent a "vibrant" Los Angeles "night" scene.

In the foreground is the Griffith Park Observatory, home of a 12" Zeiss refractor and a rather good planetarium.

Makes me appreciate that I can see two street lights from where I live, and none from my observatory... Puke central

Mmmm forget the pollution I am just going to fantasize about the scope.
I presume 12 inch refers to app and not its lenght☺
Do you recon it would be reasonably decent even if the makers name starts with Z?
Its funny looking at such densely populated regions as I sit here and can not see another house or light pole...
Maybe humans have a moth gene and are attracted to light?

I think that scope dictated the invention of the focal reducer and the car trailer.
