120 MegaPixel Canon @ 9.4fps - Colour & Monochrome

Here's a new sensor development from Canon: An APS-H sized 120 MegaPixel sensor at a max of 9.4 fps. Mostly geared to industrial and security application. Interestingly it's available in colour & monochrome versions. See video (best full screen to see differences) & article below.

With so many megapixels, binning could make such sensor quite versatile, for example 120mp at 450mm fl would be about optimal at 1arcsec per pixel, and when binned 2x2 it would work nicely at 30mp and 900mm fl, and binned 3x3 it would be a nice match for 1.5m fl and still give a respectable resolution in images with 13mp.

That could work really really well with a Sigma Art 135mm F/1.8!

Further details on the 120 megapixel sensor coming to market/ It's now being sold by Canon as a sensor to manufacturers, developers etc... even astro use is mentioned as an application for one. To quote the linked dpreview article:

That in and of itself is big news, despite the fact that these sensors are likely meant for security, machine vision and, say, astrophotography camera makers. There's the 120MP APS-H sensor, which outputs images measuring 13280x9184 pixels; there's a 2/3" 5MP global shutter sensor that boasts "remarkably wide dynamic range"; and, finally, a 2.2MP full-frame unit with 19µm high-sensitivity pixels designed for extreme low-light shooting. All three are available in RGB and monochrome variations.

So people's advice when asked, how to make that camera have the current utmost in resolution would be to try it in 'monochrome', right?

That's because the monochrome doesn't 'waist' the bayering of the pixels on color ones...like the rggb bayer matrix...does anyone know how much better resolution mathematically this makes it...like some say mono is 3 times better than color?
