I recently purchased the Samyang 14mm F2.8 lens with the idea of running off some milky way shots this winter. This is the first result. A stack of 14 x 180s images (tracked) taken with the lens on a Canon 60Da. Mount is a HEQ5 Pro. Tracked images were stacked and processed in Pixinsight and then combined with a single, untracked, foreground shot in PS CS6.

The glow above the foreground is light from nearby built up areas.

Comments and critique welcome.

That really is very excellent Rodney. No noise, great star colours and detailed.

Thanks Rick. It would be a great idea to pack a DSLR and start snapping off a few wide field shots.
