Hello all ! have just processed one of my movies - first light with the double stacked Lunt 50 I bought off IIS. Maybe a bit over sharpened?
I used autostakkert and registax -both for the first time.
Took me a while to get the hang of focus, and still needs practice.
Hope you like it
cheers

welcome to the wonderful world of solar capture and processing, always room for improvement no matter what, and above all else seeing is the issue

Graeme,
Well done!

Not much on the surface at the moment a ragged AR and a couple of filaments. You captured the faint prom. The wavelets could be toned down - looks a little over cooked.

(I start with #6 to improve the overall seeing effects, then work my way down only use the #2 and #1 lightly. )

Thanks for the warm welcome (!) David, Ken.
I will try again later this weekend with your tips!
Of course my young family are all delighted I can now do astronomy in the day time as well as night time!!
Any tips on bringing out those faint proms? :thanx:

Re proms More exposure and use Corono to Merge the proms with the disk.
Phillips “The Sun” is very good and my “Imaging Sunlight” covers all the techie stuff as well as details of the various filters available to the amateur.

Graham,
Yes, very good freeware...

Re focus.... I'd be lost without the SW electronic motor on my focusser...you can watch the image in real time to get best focus.
