Bias Frame Library

Hi everyone,
I have read that astro photographers make up Dark frame libraries so as not to waste time under the stars when the sky clears up.
My question is can this also be done for Bias frames given that they are taken at the same operating temperature as the Darks and Lights?

Hi Eris,

You can make up a bias library if you want, but its not necessary if you use flat darks to make a master flat.

See this DSS screen capture of how they are used.

In my library I have a set of master darks of 15 mins, 10 mins, 5 mins, 2 mins, 1 min and for flat darks I use 10sec, 5sec and 3sec masters.

Every 12 months I make a new library, as the CCD gets older, more hot pixels have probably emerged.
