Hi There,
Just a question on Grey Market sales on Sigma Lenses, and how do i tell if it is ??.
If i bought a lens from someone, and this person bought it firstly from a shop that sells all sorts of lenses, at a very reduced price and then sold it onto me some months later at a further reduced price would this sound suspicious.
There is a receipt to prove that he bought it, and what he paid, and it was purchased new, but the price was very low compared to what one could buy it for elsewhere.
The shop in question is JB Hi-Fi in Queensland.
I know the shop dose not have them on the shelf and had to order it in.

So i wonder how do i tell if this is a grey import sold at a very reduced price, what are the signs.

Thank You in advance

Leon

The only difference is the price, grey imports are cheaper. It would be the same lens as a non grey import but with a grey import the warranty might be a bit iffy depending on the retailer. It just means that the item was not sold by an authorized dealer, it has probably come from a third party warehouse.

You should be able to check with the lens manufacturer to see if where it was sold is an authorized seller.
Most authorized sellers will all be within a close price range of each other, if it's way cheaper than it is usually a grey import.
