This is an object I haven't imaged for a few years so I thought I would give it a go before it disappeared. Getting the data was more than usually difficult because of the recent Windows 10 change that stuffed up some of my software. Everything seems to be more or less back to normal now.

Cheers

Steve

That is a cracker of an image Steve.

Really delightful capture, processing and details.

Nice one :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Is this in the SMC? It looks kinda like a MUCH better resolved patch of the SMC than I’ve achieved.
The bok globules look great, nicely sharp and contrasts.

Er no - it's in Puppis. Thanks for the comments Colin.

Thanks Peter. I still might continue to work on it. Perhaps get some SII data for a Hubble palette version.

I probably should have seen that
This is what I had in mind though, both of these are brief, one being HOO and the other RGB.

Looking good Steve. Not too many captures of this one.

I've finally, after about 6 months, got my new gear working well enough to actually try and do some imaging. Turns out my first target is this one. I got one single sub last night before the clouds rolled in though, so I'm a way off yet :p

Thanks Lee. It's a good target.

Thanks Louie. If the weather cooperates I might get some SII data for a Hubble palette. It has that nice dust structure that looks good in a Hubble image.

Good one Steve. Good detail and the colours have come out well. I’m also working a narrowband wider field version of this at the moment. Just waiting for the pesky clouds to clear to bag another couple of hours of data. Thanks for sharing.

The detail level is pretty good in this image Steve and it’s an object I don’t think I seen before.

Thanks Rodney. I will be interested to see how your narrowband turns out. I shall probably attempt the same myself

Thanks Paul. Detail is what I predominantly went for. I'm surprised this object isn't better known.

Great result on an undeservedly obscure object, Steve! Would be keen to see how it looks with some Sii.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick. Will be getting the SII tonight if the weather cooperates.

A sharp and detailed photo Steve.

A new object for me.

Great capture.

Ross.
