Next Sunday (Feb 4) my Australia trip begins and saw of the bom website that Feb gets wetter in NSW too, so more clouds and rain ?
Then I'll probably spend my stay in Qld where it is better.

What are your ideas ?

I'd stay away from North Qld, the monsoon season is setting in, getting very cloudy and wet there. Anywhere below Rockhampton will be a bit better. Another thing to note is that in the southern states the heat tends to be dry and a lot more tolerable than the constant humidity of the tropics.

I can confirm that February is traditionally our stormy season in mid-east NSW. This year seems to have started early as we have had some cracking storms (http://www.skyslab.info/more-extreme-weather/) mid to late January, but every year so far my water tank has filled and overflowed in February.
