Hey guys,

So I have a Skyprodigy here and using it the other night somehow the power cord wrapped around the mount and pulled up inside the plastic housing and managed to jam the large gear drive. Thus leading to a bit of a crunching sound at which point I stopped the drive. Cleared the jam set it back up and now I’m getting slippage. Pull the mount apart to check out the motor drive and I see that is has a couple of metal gears and a few plastic ones. One of the plastic gears has rounded out a few of its teeth(this would be the slipping). So to the point. I’m in need of a new motor drive or a new gear. Now I’m just trying to figure out if it is the same motor as the NexStar series and if so has anybody any idea of where I might source one?
Part No. slt-f001.11015
Is this possibly the same part as slt-f00-1b?

Cheers,
Sharpy

Edit: First post so a big hello to everyone on here.

If you can't do it locally....
www.deepspaceproducts.com/Replacement-Parts_8_4245.html.

This place is fantastic for motor drives, controllers and a lot of upgrade parts...they may be able to help.

If you can get a used SLT mount they are sometimes cheap on say E Bay as the drive is the same I had a similar experience but fortunately no damage , when you fix if make sure you watch the aligment process , cord wrap and damage is very common on the skyprodigy mounts

The AZ gears are brass and aluminium so if you have plastic bits then it must be the Alt section which cord wrap does not really affect , interesting , have you taken the mount apart?

Ended up getting replacement motordrive. Nice and quiet compared to the old one. It was definitely the az motordrive it had both brass and plastic cogs inside.

Where did you end up sourcing the parts? I have same scope with issues.
