It's the season for those old faithful targets and here's my noob attempt on that old chestnut M42 with a QHY168c cmos camera. First light for the camera
so was following my nose with settings and exposure length....Gain 12, offset 70 and 30sec x 100. The final stacked image had prominent horizontal banding like a high ISO DLSR image so more homework on settings. Imaged through a little 70mm triplet, didn't have the correct spacing out by 4mm so stars are out a bit .
Had a second rig doing EAA with a Atik 428ex but couldn't resist capturing good old Eta and Mr Ed {FSQ-106} with it.

Great work Beren.
I have been set up since xmas but cloud and more cloud.
The mount is under a tarp aligned and ready.. I just hope for a chance.
Even a clear night and full moon is ok by me.
Keep them coming.
Alex

Great looking photos Beren.
I really like the Horsehead and your Orion Nebula is well exposed.

Ross.

Thanks Ross, the Orion shot I think had the gain/offset incorrectly set, shame during processing it was pretty sharp with a heap of detail but a lot of banding
artefacts.
