A 22 Dec 2017 paper appears in the Astrophysical Journey (http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4357/aa992e)which puts
forward the theory that the Solar System was formed within the bubble
of a Wolf-Rayet star rather than having been created in a supernova.

The University of Chicago have made a press release. (https://news.uchicago.edu/article/2017/12/22/scientists-describe-how-solar-system-could-have-formed-bubble-around-giant-star)
